September 23rd, 2017 - Kates Begins Featherlite Fall Jamboree at Deer Creek
1Thursday night saw Adam Kates return to action at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) for the 19th annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree. Drawing 98 Open Wheel Modifieds for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned weekend, Adam logged a 8th place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 3 into the $6,000-to-win opening night feature, Kates recorded a 7th place finish transferring him into the Miner’s Outdoor & Rec Non-Qualifiers feature. Starting in 16th, Adam improved six positions in the 20-lap affair registering a 10th place finish.

The following night rolling off 5th in his heat, Adam gained one position to place 4th. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the feature, Kates came up one spot short with a 4th place outing.

Closing out the 19th annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree on Saturday, Kates logged a 12th place finish in his heat giving him one last shot at the $10,000-to-win finale with a B-Main appearance. Sending the Top 3 into the show, Adam Kates registered a 10th place outing ending his night.

August 26th, 2017 - Top 10 Finish at Hamilton County Speedway
1Behind the wheel of the Rivers Edge Scrap Management #23 Open Wheel Modified, Adam Kates traveled to Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, Iowa) on Wednesday night continuing on with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Hunt’s for Casey’s Cup. With 20 cars signed in for the Hamilton County Hullabaloo presented by Casey’s General Stores, Adam recorded a 5th place finish in his heat race positioning him 15th on the starting grid for the A-Main. Breaking into the Top 10, Kates streaked through the field seven positions to place 8th.

On Thursday with 23 cars registered in for action at Nobles County Speedway (Worthington, Minnesota) for the 7th annual USMTS Summer Slam presented by Pace Performance, Adam started the night off with a 8-lap heat race victory locking him into the 7th-starting position for the A-main. With $3,000 on the line, Kates slipped back to a 15th place outing in the 40-lap affair.

For the twelfth stop of the tour, Kates traveled to Rapid Speedway (Rock Rapids, Iowa) on Friday evening for the 7th annual USMTS Rapid Rumbles presented by Casey’s General Stores. Holding his spot in his heat race, Kates registered a 5th place finish earning him the 15th-starting position for the $5,000-to-win feature. Losing three spots, Adam was an early retiree on lap 8 while being credited with a 18th place outing.

Saturday night’s event at Park Jefferson Speedway (North Sioux City, South Dakota) was rained out by Mother Nature.

August 20th, 2017 - Adam Kates Follows USMTS Hunt for Cup to Scotland County
1Adam Kates returned with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) on Thursday evening at Pepsi Scotland County Speedway (Memphis, Missouri) for the seventh round of the Hunt for the Casey’s Cup presented by S&S Fishing & Rental. In a field of 35 cars, Kates moved up one spot in his heat race to place 5th. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature, Adam landed a 3rd place finish positioning him 17th on the starting grid for the A-Main. With $4,500 on the line, Adam Kates was an early retiree from the main event after pulling off on lap 6.

The following night brought 76 USMTS followers to Lakeside Speedway (Lakeside, Kansas) for the second annual Grant Junghans Memorial. Dropping one spot in his heat, Kates logged a 5th place finish giving him one more shot at the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Sending the Top 4 into the show, Adam came up short with a 9th place outing.

On Saturday night with 35 cars on hand at Salina Highbanks Speedway (Salina, Kansas) for the 5th annual Salute to our Veterans presented by Safe Insure plus, Kates slipped back to a 5th place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. Needing a 5th place finish or better to make the show, Adam landed a 2nd place spot behind Travis Saurer locking him into the 15th-starting position for the feature. Wrapping up the four-day weekend, Kates stopped at 81 Speedway (Park City, Kansas) on Sunday evening. Notching a 2nd place finish behind Cade Dillard in his heat, Adam earned the 12th-starting spot for the A-Main. With $3,000 on the line, Adam slipped back to a 25th place finish.

August 12th, 2017 - Kates Passes 13 Cars in Make-up Feature at Mason City Motor Speedway
1Kicking off the second swing with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Hunt for the Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental, Adam Kates invaded Brown County Speedway (Aberdeen, South Dakota) on Wednesday night for the 2nd annual Bullet SportsWear Modified Showdown. Holding his spot in his heat race, Kates registered a 4th place finish earning him the 11th-starting position for the opening night feature. Breaking into the Top 10, Adam jumped up two positions posting a 9th place finish.

After Thursday night’s USMTS event rained out at Red Cedar Speedway (Menomonie, Wisconsin), Adam Kates headed to AMSOIL Speedway (Superior, Wisconsin) on Friday competing in a field of 33 Open Wheel Modifieds. Passing three cars in his heat race, Adam reeled in a 5th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. After experiencing rough track conditions in his heat, Kates decided to save his equipment and left for the next stop of the tour on Saturday night.  

With 29 cars on hand on Saturday night at Ogilvie Raceway (Ogilvie, Minnesota), Kates dropped four positions in his heat to place 5th. Needing a 5th place finish or better in his B-Main to make the $3,000-to-win A-Main, Adam edged his way with a 5th place finish. Rolling off 22nd, Adam Kates jumped up one position logging a 21st place outing.

Closing out the weekend, Kates visited Mason City Motor Speedway (Mason City, Iowa) on Sunday for USMTS sanctioned event along with a make-up feature from June 11th. Following a 5th place finish in his heat, Adam posted a 6th place finish in his B-Main forcing him to rely on a provisional to make the show. Starting in 24th, Kates moved up two positions recording a 22nd place finish.

August 4th, 2017 - Adam Kates Begins Hunt for Casey's Cup at Springfield
1On Thursday night Adam Kates was one of 45 Open Wheel Modifieds signed in at Springfield Raceway (Springfield, Missouri) to kick off the opening round of the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Hunt for the Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental. Following a 4th place finish in his heat race, Kates logged a 13th place outing in his B-Main forcing him to rely on a provisional into the opening night feature. Holding his spot for all 40-laps, Adam registered a 25th place finish.

The following night Kates headed to Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas) competing in a field of 39 cars. Moving up two spots in his heat race, Adam recorded a 5th place finish sending him into the B-Main. Failing to place in the Top 5, Kates was granted a provisional into the $5,000-to-win A-Main. Rolling off 24th, Adam jumped up one spot in the 40-lap affair to place 23rd.

July 22nd, 2017 - Kates Attends Silver Dollar Nationals at I-80 Speedway
1Adam Kates followed the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) on Friday night to I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Nebraska) for the 7th annual Silver Dollar Nationals. With 43 Open Wheel Modifieds signed in for two rounds of heat races, Adam broke a motor in his first heat preventing him from making it out for his second heat race. Using a provisional into the $10,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday night, Adam Kates was an early retiree on lap 16 while being credited with a 25th place outing.

July 14th, 2017 - Kates Begins Badgerland Summer Shootout at Luxemburg
1Returning with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS), Adam Kates made the trip to Luxemburg Speedway (Luxemburg, Wisconsin) on Tuesday night for the opening round of the Badgerland Summer Shootout presented by Prestige Custom Cabinetry. Holding his spot in his heat race, Kates logged a 4th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 5 into the feature, Adam landed a runner-up finish behind Brian Mullen positioning him 16th on the starting grid for A-Main. Losing one spot in the 40-lapper, Adam Kates posted a 17th place outing.

The following night with 22 cars on hand at 141 Speedway (Francis Creek, Wisconsin), Kates secured his spot into the $3,000-to-win A-Main with a 3rd place finish in his heat race. Rolling off 11th, Adam dropped two spots registering a 13th place finish.

Thursday night brought 33 USMTS contenders to Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway (Oshkosh, Wisconsin) continuing on with the Northern Region presented by Summit Racing Equipment. Dropping four spots in his heat race, Adam logged a 7th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Falling one spot shy of a transfer position with a 6th place outing, Kates was granted provisional into the feature. Starting on tail, Adam improved one spot posting a 22nd place finish.

Wrapping up the four-day Badgerland Summer Shootout, Kates stopped at Plymouth Dirt Track (Plymouth, Wisconsin) on Friday night. Gaining two positions in his heat, Adam logged a 5th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Holding his spot for all 10-laps, Kates posted a 3rd place outing positioning him 15th on the starting grid for the feature. With $3,000 on the line, Adam Kates slipped back to a 23rd place fnish.

June 24th, 2017 - Top 5 Finish at Lakeside Speedway
1On Friday night Adam Kates made the short trip to Lakeside Speedway (Lakeside, Kansas) for the Gary Davis Super 66. With 14 Open Wheel Modifieds on hand, Adam posted a 6th place finish in his heat race locking him into the 12th-starting position for the feature. Breaking into the Top 5, Kates charged through the field seven spots notching a 5th place finish behind Ricky Thornton Jr., Kerry Davis, Mark Schafman, and Tim Karrick.

June 10th, 2017 - Kates Kicks Off USMTS Action in Home State of Kansas
1Following the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) on Tuesday evening, Adam Kates was one of 27 cars signed in at Caney Valley Speedway (Caney Valley, Kansas) for the MSD Central Region presented by Summit Racing Equipment. Moving up one spot in his 8-lap heat race, Adam transferred into the Real Racing Wheels B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature. Sending the Top 5, Adam grabbed the 5th and final transfer spot locking him into the 21st starting spot for the A-Main. Passing six cars in the 40-lapper, Adam Kates registered a 15th place finish.

1Wednesday night brought 37 USMTS competitors to 81 Speedway (Park City, Kansas) for the 6th annual Summit “Showdown in the Playground”. Rolling off 7th in his heat race, Adam posted a 5th place finish giving him one last shot at the $3,000-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Needing to place 5th or better to make the show, Kates came up one spot short with a 6th place finish ending his night.

After having an off day on Friday evening, Kates returned to action on Saturday night at Adams County Speedway (Corning, Iowa) for the 8th annual Malvern Bank Duals. Losing one spot in his heat race, Adam scored a 4th place finish positioning him 10th on the starting grid for the A-Main. With $3,000 on the line, Adam Kates slipped up two positions to place 12th.

May 28th, 2017 - Adam Kates Returns with USMTS in Northern Region
1 Adam Kates opened the action-packed Memorial Day Weekend on Friday night at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wisconsin) for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) RHRSwag.com Northern Region presented by Summit Racing Equipment. In a field of 36 cars, Adam fell one spot in his heat race recording a 9th place finish. Earning the 11th-starting spot for his B-Main, Kates passed three cars to place 8th but came short of a transfer position.

Saturday night brought Kates to Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) for the 15th annual A&A Electric Southern Minnesota Spring Challenge. Following a 6th place finish in his heat race, Adam grabbed the 6th and final transfer spot in his B-Main locking him into the 24th-starting position for the feature. With $3,000 on the line, Kates improved five positions in the 40-lapper posting a 19th place finish.

Wrapping up the three-day weekend with the USMTS series on Sunday, Adam stopped at Upper Iowa Speedway (Decorah, Iowa) for the 10th annual Nordic Nationals presented by Weis GMC Buick. Losing three spots in his heat race, Kates logged an 8th place outing sending him into the B-Main. Moving up three spots in the 10-lap consolation event, Adam recorded a 7th place finish positioning him 19th on the starting grid for the $3,000-to-win A-Main. Retiring from the feature 10 laps early, Adam Kates was credited with a 19th place outing.

May 19th, 2017 - Kates Begins Northern Region at I-94 Speedway
1After the rain cancelled the opening night of the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) RHRSwag.com Northern Region presented by Summit Racing Equipment, Adam Kates traveled to at I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) on Friday night for the 3rd annual Summersota Nationals presented by Barry Construction. In a stout field of 45 cars, Kates started the night off with a runner-up finish in his heat behind Dan Ebert locking his spot into the A-Main. With $3,000 on the line, Adam slipped back to a 25th place outing in the 40-lap affair.

May 13th, 2017 - Adam Kates Wraps Up USMTS Southern Region in Texas
1On Wednesday night Adam Kates kicked off the final stint of the United States Modified Touring Series (USTMS) Summit Racing Southern Region presented by Production Jars at Heart O’ Texas Speedway (Elm Mott, Texas). Holding his starting position in the 8-lap heat race, Kates registered a 5th place finish sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the Top 5 into opening night feature, Adam landed a 4th place spot positioning him 20th on the starting grid for the feature. Losing one spot, Adam Kates slipped back to a 21st place outing.

After Mother Nature cancelled Thursday’s event, Adam headed to Kennedale Speedway Park (Kennedale, Texas) on Friday for the 3rd annual Summit Showdown. Following a 5th place finish in his heat race, Kates went to grab the 5th and final transfer spot in his B-Main. Rolling off 22nd for the A-Main, Adam jumped up two spots in the 40-lapper logging a 20th place finish.

On Saturday in a field of 35 cars for the Summit Spring Modified Nationals at Lonestar Speedway (Kilgore, Texas), Kates logged a 8th place finish in his heat sending him into the B-Main for one last shot at the $3,000-to-win A-Main. Transferring the Top 5, Adam’s night was over after falling back to a 9th place outing.

May 6th, 2017 - Bent Stub Axle Ends Kates Nights Early at Southern OK
1Adam Kates was back in action on Thursday night at Southern Oklahoma Speedway (Ardmore, Oklahoma) for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned contest. Suffering a flat left-front tire in his heat race, Adam was slated to start on the tail of his B-Main until the team discovered a bent stub axle ending his night abruptly.

On Friday night in a field of 32 cars at West Texas Raceway (Lubbock, Texas), Adam logged a 5th place finish in his heat sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the Top 5 into the feature, Kates placed 8th forcing him to rely on a provisional to make the show. Rolling off 24th, Adam Kates improved seven spots in the 40-lapper registering a 17th place outing.

Closing out the three-day stint with the USMTS on Saturday, Kates stopped at Route 66 Motor Speedway (Amarillo, Texas) for the 8th annual Amarillo Ambush. Following a 5th place finish in his heat race, Adam secured his spot into the $3,000-to-win finale with a 3rd place finish in his B-Main. Starting in 18th, Kates jumped up three positions to place 15th.

April 20th, 2017 - Adam Kates Follows USMTS to Atchison County Raceway
1Back with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS), Adam Kates visited Atchison County Raceway (Atchison, Kansas) on Thursday for the 2nd annual Cage Match. Registering a 3rd place finish in his 12-lap heat, Adam earned the 11th-starting spot for the opening night feature. With $3,000 on the line, Kates slipped back to a 21st place outing.

The following night with 26 cars signed in at Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) for the 6th annual Rumble on the River, Kates logged a 8th place finish in his heat race sending him into the B-Main. Losing one spot in the 10-lap consolation event, Adam recorded an 8th place finish positioning him 24th on the starting grid for the feature. Making the fourth stop of the MSD Central Region presented by Summit Racing, Adam was one of 30 cars on hand at I-35 Speedway (Winston, Missouri) on Sunday for the Missouri Meltdown. Registering a 4th place finish in his heat, Kates transferred into the B-Main with the pole position. Needing to place in the Top 5 to make the $3000-to-win finale, Adam notched a 4th place spot. Starting in 20th, Kates was an early retiree from the feature after he lost a brake line and a rear tire from hitting debris on the track.

March 25th, 2017 - Kates Visits Humboldt Speedway for King of America
1Kicking off the opening night of the of the King of America VII Modified Nationals, Adam Kates was of one 63 cars signed in at Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas) on Thursday for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned weekend. Falling back to an 8th place finish in his heat, Adam had one las shot at the $3,000-to-win a-Main with a B-Main appearance. Taking the Top 4, Kates logged a 13th place outing in the 15-lapper.

1Returning on Saturday for three rounds of heats, Adam followed up a 9th place finish in his first round with an 8th place finish in his second 10-lap heat. Losing two spots in his rescheduled heat race on Saturday morning to place 5th, Adam transferred into the C-Main for another chance at the $10,000-to-win King of America VII Modified Nationals A-Main. March 11th, 2017 - Adam Kates Places Passes Nine Cars in Opening Night of Sooner Showdown at Southern OK Speedway
1On Thursday night Adams Kates traveled to Southern Oklahoma Speedway (Ardmore, Oklahoma) for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned weekend. Drawing 42 cars for the 5th annual Sooner Showdown presented by Production Jars, Kates recorded a 6th place finish in his heat race transferring him into the B-Main. Falling back to a 9th place finish in the 15-lap consolation event, Adam was granted a provisional into the $3,000-to-win opening night feature. Working his way through the field nine spots, Adam Kates posted a 17th place finish in the 30-lapper.

The following night slipping back to a 7th place finish in his heat, Adam needed a 6th place finish or better in his B-Main to make the show. Starting near the tail, Kates posted a 15th place outing bringing an early end to his night.

For the final night of the Sooner Showdown on Saturday, Kates recorded a 3rd place finish in his heat putting him 12th on the starting rundown for the feature. Holding his spot for all 50-laps, Adam Kates posted a 12th place finish.

March 4th, 2017 - Adam Heads to Ark-La-Tex for Cajun Clash
1For the fourth round of the Summit Racing United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Southern Region, Adam Kates was one of 39 Open Wheel Modifieds signed in at Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana) on Thursday for the 6th annual Cajun Clash. Starting 4th in his heat, Kates jumped up one position in the 8-lapper sending him into the B-Main. Needing to place in the Top 5 to make the show, Adam came up one spot short with a 6th place outing.

On Friday night rolling off 4th in his heat race, Adam slipped back to a 6th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Taking the Top 5, Kates improved two positions in the 15-lap B-Main but came short of a transfer spot with a 7th place outing.

Wrapping up the 6th annual Cajun Clash on Saturday evening, Adam notched a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Cade Dillard putting him 11th on the starting rundown for the 50-lap finale. With $4,000 on the line, Adam Kates dropped back to a 18th place finish.

February 24th, 2017 - Kates Places 12th A-Main at Greenville
1Behind the wheel of the Wehrs Machine #23 Open Wheel Modified, Adam Kates returned to action on Friday night at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) for the United States Modified Touring Series sanctioned contest. Starting 8th in his heat, Adam jumped up two spots in the 8-lapper sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the Top 6 into the opening night feature, Kates fell short with a 10th place outing.

Saturday night brought 44 USMTS followers to Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) for a chance at the $3,000 payday. Dropping back to a 5th place finish in his heat, Adam transferred into the B-Main starting in 10th. Passing three cars but coming one spot short of a transfer position, Kates was granted a provisional into the main event. Rolling off 26th, Adam jumped up two positions in the 40-lapper registering a 24th place finish.

Closing out the third round of the Summit Racing USMTS Southern Region presented by Production Jars, Kates stopped at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) on Sunday. Starting the night off by posting a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Kyle Beard, Adam earned the 8th-starting position for the $3,000-to-win feature. Coming two spots short of a Top 10 finish, Adam Kates recorded a 12th place finish.

February 18th, 2017 - Adam Kates Opens 2017 Season at Shady Oaks
1Adam Kates kicked off the 2017 season on Thursday night at Shady Oaks Speedway (Goliad, Texas) for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned event. With 30 Open Wheel Modifieds signed in for the three-day event, Kates registered a 5th place finish in his heat sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the Top 5 into the opening night feature, Adam fell one position short with a 6th place outing.

Starting on the pole of his heat on Friday, Adam slipped back to a 6th place finish sending him into the consolation event. Battling for a 5th place spot or better to make the show, Kates secured his position with a 4th place finish. With $3,000 on the line, Adam Kates jumped up two spots in the 35-lapper to place 18th.

On Saturday for the final night of the USMTS Summit Racing Southern Region presented by Production Jars, Kates logged a 4th place finish in his heat giving him one final shot at the $4,000-to-win finale with a B-Main appearance. Needing to place in the Top 5, Adam came one spot away with a 6th place finish.

December 27th, 2016 - Adam Kates Reeled in Four Top 10 Finishes During 2016 Season
Running in only one month of action, Ben Kates posted three Top 10 finishes and two Top 5 outings in only nine attempts. Shortly after taking over the reigns of the #23K Open Wheel Modified, Adam Kates competed in 35 events throughout the 2016 season. With the weather determining the outcome of four of his scheduled events, Adams registered four Top 10 finishes.

October 23rd, 2016 - Kates Attends USRA Fall Nationals at Southern New Mexico Speedway
1Powering Wehrs Machine #23K Open Wheel Modified, Adam Kates invaded Southern New Mexico Speedway (Las Cruces, New Mexico) on Friday for the 17th Annual S&S Fishing & Rental/Barnett Harley-Davidson United States Racing Association (USRA) Fall Nationals presented by G3 Fitness and MSD. With 56 entries signed in for the three-day weekend, Adam logged a 9th place finish in his heat sending him into the B-Main. Starting in 15th, Kates improved five positions but came up short of a transfer spot with a 10th place finish.

Returning on Saturday for another shot at a preliminary feature, Kates secured his spot into the A-Main with a runner-up finish in his heat behind Zane DeVilbiss. Rolling off 10th for the main event, Adam Fell back to a 18th place outing.

On Sunday for his final shot at the USRA Fall Nationals main event, Adam placed 6th in his C-Main sending him into the B-Main. Starting in 17th, Kates night was over after failing to hit a transfer spot with a 15th place finish.

September 30th, 2016 - Adam Kates Visits Lakeside for Grant Junghans Memorial
1Competing in the two-day Grant Junghans Memorial, Adam Kates returned to Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) on Thursday for the Deuces Wild event. Falling back to a 9th place outing in his heat, Adam transferred into the B-Main for one last shot at one of the two opening night features. Sending the Top 5, Kates fell short with a 9th place finish.

On Saturday night for the Grant Junghans Memorial race, Adam placed 6th in his heat giving him one last shot at the $10,002-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Sending the Top 3 into the feature, Adam fell back to a 7th place outing in his 12-lap consolation event.

September 23rd, 2016 - Adam Preps for Grant Junghans Memorial
1Preparing for the two-day Grant Junghans Memorial the following weekend, Adam Kates visited Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) on Friday night. Gaining three positions in his heat, Adam posted a 4th place finish giving him the 13th-starting position for the feature. Breaking into the Top 10, Kates improved three spots posting a 10th place outing.

September 4th, 2016 - Kates Follows USMTS Over Labor Day Weekend
1Running in the 13th round of the Hunt for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Casey's Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental, the Kates Motorsports team traveled to Fairmont Raceway (Fairmont, Minnesota) on Thursday night for the 9th Annual KEVKO Summer Spectacular presented by State Bank of Fairmont and Bill & Sandy Johnson. Recording a 8th place finish in his heat, Adam improved one position in his B-Main logged a 7th place outing. Starting in 21st for the $3,000-to-win A-Main, Kates held his spot for all 32-laps registering a 21st place finish.

Chateau Raceway (Lansing, Minnesota) was the next stop of the Hunt for the Casey’s Cup drawing 41 entries on Friday night. Recording a 8th place finish in his heat, Adam transferred into the B-Main with the 10th-starting position. Gaining three spots, Kates logged a 7th place finish but fell two positions short of a transfer spot into the A-Main.

On Saturday night the Kates Motorsports team headed to Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) for the 11th Annual Barclay Landscaping Labor Day Dual. In a stout field of 58 Open Wheel Modifieds, Adam logged a 6th place finish in his heat sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the Top 4 into the $3,000-to-win show, Kates dropped two spots recording a 10th place outing.

Closing out the action-packed Labor Day Weekend, Adam Kates invaded at Cresco Speedway (Cresco, Iowa) on Sunday for second to last stop on the Hunt for the Casey’s Cup. Placing 7th in his heat, Adam needed a 5th place finish or better to make the 13th Annual Cresco Bowl. Starting in 7th, Kates fell two positions in the 15-lapper logging a 10th place finish.

August 27th, 2016 - Adam Kates Makes 3 of 4 Features With USMTS
1Behind the wheel of the Rivers Edge Scrap Management #23 Open Wheel Modified, Adam Kates began the four-day swing with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) by traveling to Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, Iowa) on Thursday night for the ninth round of The Hunt for the Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental. With 26 cars signed in, Kates posted a 7th place finish in his heat sending him into the B-Main. Losing one position, Adam logged a 7th place outing but earned the 21st-starting position for the feature. Passing four cars in the 32-lap opening night A-Main, Adam Kates registered a 17th place finish.

On Friday night the Kates Motorsports team made the trip to Rapid Speedway (Rock Rapids, Iowa) for another $3,000-to-win A-Main. Following a 7th place finish in his heat, Adam recorded a 10th place finish in his B-Main giving him the 24th-starting spot for the feature. Dropping one spot, Kates retired a 25th place outing.

The following night Adam visited Park Jefferson Speedway (Jefferson, South Dakota) where Kates registered an 8th place finish in his heat race sending him into the consolation event. Placing 9th in the 10-lap B-Main, Adam rolled of 23rd for the 37-lap feature. Moving up one spot, Adam Kates logged a 23rd place outing.

Round 12 of The Hunt for the Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental brought 38 entries to Casino Speedway (Watertown, South Dakota) on Saturday for a chance at the $5,000 top prize. Recording an 8th place finish in his heat, Adam needed a 5th place finish or better in the consolation event to make the show. Starting in 13th, Adam Kates improved four spots but fell short of a transfer spot into the feature.

December 12th, 2015 - Kates Finishes 14th in USMTS Hunt for Cup
Attending a total of 57 events, Ben Kates recorded seven Top 10 finishes during his 2015 season. With rain cancelling 20 of Kates planned dates, Ben reeled in four Top 5 outings. He also finished in fourteenth in the United States Modified Tour Series (USMTS) Hunt for the Casey's Cup.
